Safer Internet Day 2018
Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday 6 February 2018 with the slogan ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you’.
The day is celebrated around the world in February each year promoting the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people with the overarching aim of inspiring a national conversation.
Safer Internet Day is coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre and sees hundreds of organisations getting involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
The day is celebrated across the world in over 100 countries with coordination from the joint Insafe/INHOPE network with the support of the European Commission and National Safer Internet Centres across Europe.
The purpose of the day is to highlight positive uses of technology as well as to explore the role we are all playing in helping to create a better and safer online community. This entails calling on young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers all to join to help create a better internet for all.
